For years we have been hearing of a watch that runs on apps and access the Internet from Apple. But on September 4, 2013, the South Korean behemoth, Samsung Electronics, introduced a digital watch at the Samsung Unpacked Episode 2 in Berlin, a watch that runs on apps and interact with other Samsung family of products such as Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. They named it Galaxy Gear which is expected to hit markets in more than 140 countries as early as September 25, 2013. Samsung declared that the watch will integrate with smart devices and will dig deeper into consumers everyday lives. It will be released in the United States in October with a sticker price of $299.
It is equipped with a 1.63-inch 320 X 320-pixel touch display screen, single core 800 MHz Exynos processor, 512 MB memory, 4 GB on board storage, a 315 mAh battery (advertised to last 25 hours), and a camera capable of capturing 1.9-megapixel stills and 10-second video clips mounted on the watch band. It will be available in Jet Black, Mocha Gray, Wild Orange, Oatmeal Beige, Rose Gold and Lime Green to suit many color preferences.
